Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, protect, and share personal information for families, children, and caregivers.
Our Commitment to Privacy
We understand that childcare involves highly sensitive personal information. We collect only what is necessary, protect it from unauthorized access, respect family and caregiver privacy, maintain confidentiality regarding children and households, and use information responsibly and lawfully.
Information We Collect
Parents and guardians: name, phone, email, address, emergency contacts, childcare requirements, booking history, payment details, and communications.
Children: name, age, medical conditions, allergies, dietary needs, emergency medical information, developmental needs, care instructions, and authorized pickup details — only as needed for safe care.
Babysitters and applicants: identity and contact details, date of birth, identification documents, address, employment history, experience, references, screening results, and payment details where applicable.
Website: device, browser, IP address, pages visited, and usage data to improve our services.
How We Use Information
We use personal information to arrange and manage childcare, match families with suitable caregivers, verify identities and eligibility, process bookings and payments, communicate service updates, respond to support requests, and maintain the safety and quality of Dainty Care services.
- To provide, personalize, and improve our services.
- To screen, onboard, train, and support caregivers.
- To prevent fraud, investigate concerns, and enforce our policies.
- To meet legal, regulatory, safeguarding, and accounting obligations.
Children's Privacy
Information about children is provided by a parent or legal guardian and is used only to arrange safe, appropriate care. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children or use children's information for advertising.
Parents and guardians should share only information that is relevant to the child's care and should keep medical, emergency, and pickup details accurate and current.
Information Sharing
We share information only when it is necessary to deliver the service, protect a child or another person, comply with the law, or work with trusted providers that support our operations.
- Caregivers receive only the family and child information needed for an accepted booking.
- Families receive relevant caregiver profile, experience, screening, and contact information.
- Service providers may process payments, communications, hosting, analytics, or identity checks under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
- Authorities or safeguarding professionals may receive information where disclosure is required or reasonably necessary to prevent harm.
Confidentiality
Caregivers must keep all information learned about a family, child, home, routine, health condition, or booking confidential. Families must also respect the private information of caregivers. Confidential information must not be discussed, photographed, posted, or shared outside the care relationship.
Photography & Media
Caregivers may not photograph, record, or post children, families, homes, documents, or private conversations without clear prior permission from the parent or guardian. Permission for a private update does not permit public or social media use.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. Access is limited to people and service providers who need the information for legitimate work.
No online system can be guaranteed completely secure. Users should protect their passwords, devices, and verification codes and contact us promptly if they suspect unauthorized access.
Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as needed to provide services, resolve disputes, maintain safeguarding and booking records, meet financial or legal obligations, and enforce agreements. When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it where reasonably practical.
Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, update, restrict, or delete personal information we hold about you. You may also withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, although this may limit our ability to provide certain services.
We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where the law, safeguarding responsibilities, fraud prevention, or legitimate dispute records require it.
Third-Party Services
Our website and services may use third-party payment, communication, hosting, analytics, or verification providers. Their handling of information is governed by their own privacy terms as well as the agreements we maintain with them. We encourage users to review relevant third-party notices.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our services, practices, or legal obligations. We will publish the revised version with a new effective date and provide additional notice when a change materially affects how personal information is handled.
